Mueve montañas

Work commissioned by Centro Cultural Borges for its Experimenta series, which brings together a stage artist and a visual artist to create a performance piece.
Developed in collaboration with sculptor Marcela Cabutti, the work took the form of a monologue-performance in which dancer and performer Julieta Zabalza becomes trapped among overlapping layers of materials. Like geological eras, one upon another, Cabutti’s soft sculptures hold within their strata stories of miracles, devotions, and wonders. A vast mountain of pieces and narratives, eroded by the turbulent dances unfolding around it, comes apart to form an installation made of narrative debris—fortuitous and supernatural.
